If there is a risk of freezing or bacterial growth before a pipe system is put into operation, it is impractical to perform a leak test with water. For pipe systems that have been tested for pressure resistance, a simplified leak test with air can be performed. This applies to systems for tap water and underfloor heating with plastic pipes that are to be built in or cast in.
