This high-performance and compact electric cassette is primarily engineered to function as an external backup or supplementary heat source (immersion heater backup) alongside a heat pump setup in larger homes or small commercial properties. The streamlined design works essentially as a powerful immersion heater mounted inside a sealed water jacket—a dedicated boiler unit without integrated domestic hot water storage.

High output capacity and intelligent stage control
The boiler is built from a robust, heavy-duty sheet steel casing and contains an internal water volume of 4.5 liters. Supplying a maximum output of 26 kW, it delivers a powerful and dependable energy boost when the heat pump's capacity falls short during severe outdoor freezing conditions. The NIBE ELK 26 comes fully equipped with a reliable thermal cut-out switch and integrated contactors, allowing the output to be controlled externally across three individual power stages of 4 kW, 7 kW, and 15 kW. A time-delay configuration is recommended during installation for connected loads exceeding 6 kW to safeguard the property's power grid.

Clean and space-saving wall-mount installation
Thanks to its highly compact dimensions of 565x245 mm and standard hanging wall-mount design, the NIBE ELK 26 is exceptionally easy to position within utility spaces or boiler rooms. It takes up minimal physical space and mounts directly onto flat walls. The modulating electric cassette is supplied as a raw base unit without integrated components such as a circulation pump, expansion vessel, or pressure gauge, giving the installer absolute freedom to customize external pipework and system parts according to the property's design.
