Description

Sand trap H666 (composed of quality products from Wavin) is a robust and reliable sedimentation well for effective purification of stormwater. When rain and meltwater are led away from roof surfaces, asphalt driveways, courtyards and hard-surfaced ground surfaces, it brings with it sand, fine particles, gravel and organic sludge.

If this untreated water is discharged directly into a stone chest, a stormwater reservoir or an infiltration bed, the system quickly silts up again. This often leads to reduced infiltration capacity, standing water and costly earth and excavation work. By installing the H666 sand trap as a mechanical pre-filter, the water velocity in the container is reduced, allowing heavier particles to settle to the bottom while the purified water is passed on unhindered.

Flexible installation based on ground conditions

The well is delivered without a fixed bottom to provide maximum adaptability when installed in the ground:

• Cast concrete slab (recommended next to a building): When installing close to the foundation of a house or load-bearing structure, a stable bottom slab is cast. The slab should be approximately 150 mm thick with a diameter exceeding 355 mm. The sand trap is pressed lightly into the damp concrete before hardening to achieve a stable, tight and durable anchorage.
• Drainage bed: Well suited for free-standing installation further out on the property, in green areas or directly adjacent to the end of an infiltration section.

The well has standardized 110 mm socket connections in both the inlet and outlet. This means it connects directly to standard 110 mm ground drain pipes using pipe lubricant – without any extra transitions or adapters. The included lid closes tightly, prevents external debris from falling down and is easily lifted off for regular checks and sludge suction/emptying.
