Vatette Coupling Nut Yellow Brass
Description
Vatette coupling nut (yellow/brass) is the original nut for Sweden's market-leading compression ring coupling system from Vatette. Together with the screw part and compression ring, this nut creates a type approved, drip-proof and durable pipe joint in professional plumbing installations as well as in demanding home projects. The nut is available in a complete dimension range from Dy 8 mm up to Dy 54 mm, making it suitable for everything from narrow supply lines to heavy-duty main trunks.
Benefits & Features of Vatette Coupling Nuts
- Complete and proven system: A complete Vatette compression ring coupling consists of a screw part, compression ring and nut – developed for perfect interaction and 100% tightness.
- Wide range of dimensions: Available in dimensions from Dy 8 mm to Dy 54 mm to fit everything from smaller tap water pipes to larger distribution and main pipes.
- Factory pre-lubricated for easy assembly: The couplings and nuts are delivered pre-lubricated from the factory. Normally, no additional lubrication is required during installation, which minimizes friction and the risk of cutting.
- Smoothed pipe threads: Smoothed pipe threads on straight couplings with a flat end (type 1136) provide optimal adhesion for thread sealant, thread and paste.
- Flexible compatibility: All products with a Vatette end can be supplemented and adapted with Vatette coupling sets and support sleeves for different types of pipes.
- Type-approved safety (CR-marked): Parts in contact with water and nuts are marked with CR and made of type-approved dezincification-resistant brass (DZR) for maximum corrosion resistance and long service life.
Compatible pipe types
The Vatette compression ring coupling system is known for its versatility and is type-approved for connection to several different pipe types:
- Copper pipes: Hard, semi-hard and annealed (NOTE! A support sleeve is always required for soft and annealed copper pipes according to Säker Vatten).
- Stainless steel pipes: For industrial environments and tap water systems with high hygiene requirements.
- Electrogalvanized steel pipes: Suitable for closed systems such as heating and cooling.
- PEX pipes / Plastic and composite pipes: Used together with a correctly adapted coupling set and support sleeve.
Areas of application
Vatette coupling nut is the obvious choice for both new installations, renovations and ongoing service work in:
- Drinking water systems: Both cold and hot water in villas, apartment buildings and commercial properties.
- Heating systems: Radiator coils, underfloor heating installations and primary distribution pipes.
- Cooling systems: Cooling circuits and heat recovery systems.
Assembly and installation advice
To guarantee a professional, tight and type-approved joint, the following procedure is recommended:
- Cutting and deburring: Cut the pipe completely perpendicularly with a pipe cutter. Deburr the inside and outside of the pipe carefully to remove all burrs and chips so that neither the coupling nor the clamping ring is damaged during assembly.
- Support sleeve: Always use an approved support sleeve when installing soft copper pipes as well as PEX and composite pipes according to the current industry regulations Säker Vatten.
- Assembly: Slide the coupling nut and clamping ring onto the pipe. Then push the pipe into the bottom of the coupling housing and tighten the nut by hand until it stops.
- Final tightening: Tighten the nut with a suitable wrench or block wrench according to Vatette's recommended tightening torque (see table for each dimension). Avoid overtightening - the coupling is pre-lubricated and seals effectively at the specified torque/speed.
