Infiltration

A well-functioning infiltration is the basis for a reliable and approved individual drain. In this category you will find everything you need to build a modern infiltration bed, from complete infiltration packages and spreader pipes to infiltration modules, distribution wells and sludge separators.

The products are mainly used in new installations or renovations of sewage systems for villas, holiday homes and communities outside the municipal water supply network. By purifying the wastewater in a natural way in the ground, both the local environment and groundwater are protected against pollution. At vvsmax, we offer proven components with high strength and approved purification capacity that meet current environmental requirements. Choose from flexible modular solutions for plots with limited space or traditional sprinkler packages and create a long-term sewage solution for your property.

When a property cannot be connected to the municipal sewage network, an infiltration plant is the most common and reliable method for treating domestic wastewater. The treatment takes place in the natural soil layer of the ground after the water has passed through a sludge separator. For the plant to function optimally and last for many decades, correct dimensioning, approved components and careful installation are required.

What is included in an infiltration plant

A complete infiltration solution usually consists of several interacting parts:

  • Sludge separator: Separates sludge, grease and solid particles from the wastewater before it is led further into the sprinkler system.
  • Distribution well: Ensures that the pre-treated water is distributed evenly across all sprinkler lines of the plant.
  • Sprinkler pipes or infiltration modules: Leads the water out into the bed. Modules create a large contact surface with good oxygenation on a significantly smaller surface area than traditional pipes.
  • Ventilation and aeration pipes: Supply oxygen to the infiltration bed, which is crucial for the biological treatment process.
  • Geotextile / non-woven fabric: Placed on top of the spreader layer to prevent backfill materials from penetrating and clogging the bed.

Modules or traditional spreader pipes

When choosing a system, the choice is often between traditional spreader pipes and modern infiltration modules. Traditional spreader pipes require a larger excavation area and a thick layer of washed macadam. Infiltration modules, on the other hand, are based on a cassette structure that optimizes the air supply and reduces the need for excavation and carrier material. Modular systems are an excellent choice for sites with rocks, high groundwater levels or limited site area.

Important considerations before purchase and installation

  • Soil and percolation test: The permeability of the soil determines whether infiltration is possible. In case of too dense soil, such as clay, a soil bed may be required instead.
  • Groundwater level: There must be a safety distance (usually at least 1 meter) between the spreader layer and the highest groundwater level.
  • Capacity and load: Choose the package size based on the number of people in the household and whether the system will handle both BDT (bathing, washing, washing) and toilet water (KL sewage) or only BDT.
  • Permit from the municipality: Installation of an individual sewer always requires written permission from the municipality's environmental and health protection committee before work begins.

vvsmax provides sustainable and type-approved infiltration systems that facilitate ground work and ensure an approved result according to Swedish environmental legislation.
